I saw the comments from Vibrator, below, on the Steorn forum, and thought they were worth repeating here, since Vibrator seems to say that Steorn has found a way to get around a cast-in-concrete physical law.

This is the most explicit remark I have seen from a participant in the '300' that Steorn have something more than hot air.

Both types - EM and PM - work as advertised. The PM type has been in evidence from videos released by Steorn for some time, however to appreciate them one needs to apply a little basic physics - the videos in question demonstrate path dependence, so the question to ask regarding the PM system's viability would be "is path independence a prerequisite for CoE?"

The answer of course is "yes".

As to the EM systems, they've not been seen outside the private forums, however being so privileged i can confirm these systems do produce torque with no CEMF at any point during the cycle. So the question you have to ask yourself there is "is Lenz's law a requirement of CoE?"

And the answer to that is also "yes".

Now, granted i could be lying, but if i'm not, then neither is Steorn.

But there are some simple questions you have not answered.
Does Steorn have a self-sustaining EM device which does not require any external source of power?

It's moot insofar as the more fundamental question of their ability to decouple rotor KE from the input energy.

So while i haven't seen or tested a system such as you describe, i have no doubt as to their viability - a Lenz law violation is a pretty elementary symmetry break.

It just means vibrator is getting retarded.
Once he used to be a more rational person, but he drank too much of the Steorn cool-aid.

Well, we shall soon see. Neutral
