I finally threw together some crude animated graphics to illustrate my 5x8 stator/rotor Orbo concept. If anyone is interested, you can see them here:

Comments and criticism welcome.

I know there are some talented artists out there. If you feel like producing a more aesthetically pleasing rendition, go right ahead. In fact I welcome it. If any of you experimenters want to build it, go ahead. And if you have questions ... here I am.

I posted this in the Steorn.com forum a few days ago, but have not received much feedback yet.

RunningBare:Good renderings OC, but I'm afraid I found the sticking point in the very first frame

http://hh0.no-ip.info/images/oc_wheel.jpg

The two areas I marked will have the greatest influence at that part of the sequence, both those magnets will have a greater attraction than any other position on the wheel.

OC:
Yes, BUT there are 3 other magnets all providing motive forces. 2 sticky and 3 providing positive influence.

edit: also, the one at the top in your image hasn't actually reached the sticky spot yet. It's in the process of "flipping". The one you marked near the bottom is just passing through the sticky spot. So, actually it's 1 sticky, 1 "flipping", and 3 providing motive forces.

OC:
I just added some notes to the image where you pointed out the sticky spot(s). If you look closely, and check the arrows (blue arrows for attraction, red for repulsion), you will notice there are several places where forces are being applied and should be sufficient to overcome the sticky spot (sticky spots don't take much additional force than that provided by a single magnet).
